Born in Brooklyn, New York to John and Margaret (Smith) Gallagher, Kevin was the second of their four children. He graduated from Holy Cross High School in Queens in 1959. Following college, he joined IBM where his professional career spanned more than forty years, across six states. He met his wife, Patricia, while they were both working at the IBM pavilion at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City. They wed in 1965 and their only child, Kathleen, was born in 1968. Kevin was a youth basketball coach, Junior Achievement instructor, golfer, fisherman and cyclist. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, reading westerns and spending time with his family. Kevin was predeceased by Patricia, his wife of almost 40 years, his beloved parents, brother Michael and sister Margaret (Peggy). Kevin is lovingly remembered by his daughter Kathleen Ray, son-in-law Christopher, and grandson Donovan of Dallas, brother Brian Gallagher and wife Mary of New York and their children Amanda and Ian, sister-in-law Mel Gallagher and her children Michael and Matt and daughter in law Katie of Houston and his brother-in-law Chris Harmon of New York. Memorial Service arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends consider a memorial donation to Junior Achievement.
