Teen struck while crossing street in Vienna

On Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at approximately 5:06 p.m., a 14-year-old boy from Vienna was struck while crossing Nutley Street, SW.

The pedestrian entered southbound Nutley Street near Roland Court and attempted to cross all lanes heading toward Roland Street.

As the pedestrian neared the curb line on the far side of northbound Nutley Street, he was struck by a passing car. The pedestrian was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with injuries which appeared serious but were believed to be non life- threatening.

Several witnesses were interviewed and at this time no charges have been placed in the accident. The driver of the vehicle stopped and was identified.
