Police team up for needy kids

On Dec. 9, the Town of Vienna Police Motorcycle Unit along with the Fairfax County Police Department and various other area law enforcement agencies will again collect toys for kids in need.

The toys are distributed to children in Fairfax County communities and the children at Inova Fairfax Hospital who might not otherwise have such a cheerful holiday season.

The public is asked to donate new, unused, unwrapped toys, games, books, stuffed animals and gifts. The gifts will then be collected and distributed to the children by Santa and his elves, riding police motorcycles.

Collection boxes have been placed at the Vienna Police Station at 215 Center St. South, in Vienna. Please bring any items by the station no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 8.
