Assault on officer

A 26-year-old man was subdued by Fairfax County Police officers after banging his head on the interior of a cruiser and spitting at officers. Luis Valdes, 26, was arrested after police served him with an outstanding arrest warrant.

While he was being taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, Valdes allegedly banged his head against the cruiser window. Valdes was transferred to another cruiser, but spit at officers. Police said Valdes was then sprayed with pepper spray, was decontaminated by firefighters and then taken to jail in an ambulance. He was served with the original arrest papers and also charged with assaulting a police officer.
