Bike to Work Day

Join thousands of area commuters by biking to work on Friday, May 16 as part of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association's annual Bike to Work Day celebration. The regional event is aimed at promoting bicycling as a clean, fun and healthy way to get to work as well as a viable alternative to solo driving.

There will be 26 pit stops in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia offering participants breakfast, entertainment, speakers, and chances to win bicycles and other prizes. The first 7,000 registrants by May 9 will receive a free T-shirt and will be entered in the bike raffle.

Fairfax County pit stops are at Fairfax Corner, Fairfax University Mall, Reston, Springfield, Tysons Corner and Vienna. Experienced bicycle commuters will lead commuter convoys across the area. For details and to register, visit www.waba.org or call 202-518-0524.
