Offering something for everyone

A new Internet lounge in downtown Herndon caters – literally and figuratively – to the urban multi-tasker who isn't too busy to demand high-quality service and gourmet fare, together in one location.

So Addictive Dessert Internet Lounge, which opened March 17 on the corner of Elden and Spring streets, is a combination Internet cafe, shipping, printing and faxing station, as well as a gourmet restaurant and bakery.

In addition, customers can buy gourmet coffee, dried fruits, nuts, and other retail items and, soon, even bring in items to be processed and sold on eBay.

General Manager Zaid Said, and his sister, co-owner Rostana Said, envisioned the cafe as a one-stop location where corporate customers on the go can come in for breakfast and stay to work, shop, and snack until lunch; work some more on either their own laptop computer or one of the cafe's four stationary computers until dinner; and then just relax with dessert and a cup of joe until closing time.

"You can do it all in one location,” Zaid Said said. “You can get your work done, you can enjoy gourmet food, you can shop among some nice retail items; it is the wave of the future with both WiFi and Internet stations. It is better than working at home.”

The cafe boasts that it has the best of everything, including name-brand items such as Seattle's Best coffees, Cheesecake Factory desserts, Original SoupMan bisques and Vie de France bakery items.

“We are also planning to implement both a buffet and a Sunday brunch,” said Zaid Said. “We already have eggs Benedict, waffles and pancakes for breakfast; pizza, Philly cheesesteaks and gourmet sandwiches for lunch; and for dinner we have veal Parmesan, chicken Parmesan and even lobster ravioli. Quality is not sacrificed, even though we offer a variety of items.”
