Teen stabbed in Mount Vernon
Three teenagers have been arrested for the stabbing of a 17-year-old Mount Vernon High School student as he walked home from school yesterday. Police said a car with the teens flashing gang signs pulled alongside the victim in the area of 8515 Old Mount Vernon Road and that one 17-year-old suspect got out of the car and stabbed the victim in the arm with a knife.
The suspects fled the area and were shortly identified by police.
The two 17-year-olds were arrested at their homes later that evening and transported to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. Both were charged with malicious wounding and gang participation. One 17-year-old was also served with outstanding petitions for gang participation, violating his parole and throwing a missle at an unoccupied vehicle.
The third suspect, Jose Mejia-Pineda, 18, of Alexandria, was arrested for malicious wounding and gang participation. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
