Lorton man charged with detonating explosives

A 19-year-old Lorton man is facing felony charges after he allegedly detonated seven bottle explosives in a Springfield shopping center on Rolling Road Aug. 18. No one was injured in the incident.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department investigators charged Joshua Lavonte Gingrich with seven counts of manufacture, transport, possession and use of a fire bomb or explosives material. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
