Redskins take center stage in Ashburn
The long wait is about to end for Washington Redskins fans seeking a glimpse at the 2007 version of their favorite National Football League team.
Washington will begin final preparations for the upcoming season with the opening of training camp July 27 at Redskins Park in Ashburn.
The Redskins struggled to a 5-11 mark last season after reaching the NFC Divisional playoff round in 2005.
Can the Skins regain their 2005 form? Is Jason Campbell the long-term solution at quarterback? Will LaRon Landry prove worthy of the sixth overall selection in the NFL draft?
Fans will get a chance to form their own answers, as well as watch roster and starting position battles unfold, as eight practices will be open to the public and free of charge from the start of camp through Aug. 8.
There is also a chance autograph seekers could collect a John Hancock from coach Joe Gibbs, wide receiver Santana Moss or one of their other favorites.
Before the fun begins, the Redskins are requesting that fans attending training camp fill out a Fan Invitation at www.Redskins.com and print it out. The invitation allows the team to gauge how many fans to expect at training camp. Invitations will be collected at the front gate upon arrival.
Practices last about 90 minutes to two hours, and fans are permitted to bring coolers with food and drinks to training camp. No alcohol will be allowed at Redskins Park. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.
