Greater Loudoun drops second straight game

Youngstown, Ohio scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a tie and held Greater Loudoun scoreless in the top of the seventh to gain a 7-5 victory in the final pool play game of the Babe Ruth 13U World Series, Aug. 21 at Fireman's Field.

The host Lions (2-2) held leads of 3-0 and 4-2 in the game before Youngstown scored five of the final six runs in the contest. The loss was the second of the day for Greater Loudoun, who dropped a 3-2 decision to Hopewell Valley, N.J. earlier Tuesday morning in a game that was suspended from Monday night.

The Lions would have clinched the National Division title and earned a bye into the semifinal round with a win in either of their final two games. Instead, Greater Loudoun has been eliminated from the tournament.
