A 69-year-old Centreville man died in a crash Thursday on Route 50 in Loudoun County that shut the road down in both directions for more than two hours.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Dept., Syan Trilochan-Singh was driving a 2003 Lincoln Town Car east on Route 50 just east of Middleburg when a 2005 Toyota Prius driven by William E. Albers, 66, of Middleburg, crossed his path, and the two vehicles collided.
Albers was trying to turn out of a private driveway on the south side of Route 50 onto Route 50 west, Loudoun County Sheriff's spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

Police believe everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt. "Trilochan-Singh's front airbag deployed," Troxell said.
The crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending, according to Troxell.
