Daylight burglaries continue in Fairfax County
Four homes robbed Tuesday; police say Middle Eastern, Indian homeowners targeted
The burglars, entering through back doors or windows, have typically hit homes during the day when people are not home. The burglaries have taken place since January in the Chantilly, Centreville, Fair Oaks, Reston, and West Springfield areas.
Earlier this month, six homes in the Fair Oaks area were burglarized over two days: two next-door neighbors on Oct. 6, and two sets of neighbors on Oct. 7.
On Tuesday, four homes were hit on the same day in the 5300 block of Poplar Valley Court in Chantilly; the 12700 block of Lady Summerset Lane in Fairfax; the 9300 block of Cumbria Valley Drive in Lorton, and the 8400 block of White Haven Court in Lorton.
Police say all the burglaries have occurred during the day and the suspects are primarily seeking gold jewelry. Other items including electronics and personal documents, such as passports, have also been stolen.
Fairfax County Police spokesman Bud Walker said Thursday that no new leads have arisen from Tuesday's burglaries but police have received "very similar descriptions from all the burglaries."
The suspects have been described as two Hispanic or Middle Eastern men in their late 20s to early 30s and one Hispanic woman.
