During the Second World War, Jerry Wolf served as a B-17 turret gunner on bombing raids over Germany. Shortly before D-Day, during a mission targeting a refinery near Berlin, his plane was shot down. Parachuting to land, he was captured and endured detention in several POW camps before his liberation on April 29, 1945. Since 2004, he has shared his story with area schools and other organizations.
