Getting to be too much

Dear Roger Clemens,

Please go away. Seriously. I don't believe you, and your integrity in the eyes of America is dropping every minute.

It's disgustingly disgusting that you could deny -- to a congressional committee, nonetheless -- having used performance-enhancing drugs.

Clemens has been all over the news this week, popping up in stories that range from his alleged affair with a 15-year-old country singer to his exploits with John Daly's ex-wife.

Regardless of the infraction, I think Clemens is guilty and he's annoying me by denying and lying about it.

You can only repudiate so much evidence and substantiated fact before you eventually have to face the music.

Remember when you were a little kid ... you could only keep that I-didn't-break-the-window-playing-hockey lie inside for so long. It's about that time for Clemens.

I'm sure it's unnecessary background by now, but Clemens will face some serious perjury charges, should anyone convict him of using performance-enhancing drugs. It'll be near impossible to do so, and, in the meantime, Clemens has filed a defamation of character suit against his former personal trainer and alleged supplier, Brian McNamee.

During the aforementioned congressional hearing, Clemens vehemently denied any wrongdoing, and he was even so brash as to take a how-could-you-impugn-me-type tone. I couldn't believe it.

How can you deem someone as credible who has the past that Clemens has had ... which is now slowly becoming unearthed?

If the Mindy McCready stuff is true -- there's a personal opinion sitting in front of this computer screen that believes it is -- I see absolutely no reason to believe anything that comes out of Clemens' mouth.

And you know the irony in all of this?

McCready released a single in 1996 titled, “Guys Do It All The Time.”

Don't know the exact meaning behind the song, but I'll bet I can guess where she got her inspiration.
