A 55-year-old man is facing charges for the murder of his wife.
On Jan. 6, 2017 at 3:25 p.m., a double shooting was reported by a family member at a home in the 9200 block of Okla Drive in Fairfax.
When officers arrived, they say they found a woman who had been fatally shot and a man who had life-threatening gunshot injuries.
Donna Pentek, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not identify the other gunshot victim.
This week, on Feb. 15, detectives from the FCPD Major Crimes Bureau and SWAT officers arrested Donna’s husband, Laszlo Pentek, for her alleged murder.
Detectives remained vigilant while pursuing every investigative lead for more than two years. Ultimately, the investigation and forensic findings led police to believe that Pentek allegedly murdered his wife, according to Major Ed O'Carroll, commander of the Major Crimes Bureau.
“Today, I announce justice is served in an active 2017 homicide investigation. This is a sad case, it’s a murder of a member of our community - a daughter, a wife, a mom, a friend to many,” said O'Carroll.
Laszlo was indicted for one count of 1st degree murder and one count of using a firearm in committing a felony.
