The sound of Indonesian music fills the woods where an 18th-century plantation once stood in Annandale. Dressed in a traditional costume mimicking the markings of a peacock, Erna Swidyastuti emerges from a wooded trail and enters an amphitheater surrounded by people settled on lawn chairs and blankets where she performs the Peacock Angelo dance from Bali. It is all part of the Cultural Heritage Nights Concert Series at Ossian Hall Park. Each week, the concert series highlights different cultures through music, dance and traditional performances. The free concerts are held each Saturday from 7:30 through 8:30 at Ossian Hall Park in Annandale. A list of upcoming shows and profiles of the performers can be found at http://www.parktakes-online.net.
