George Mason University police are investigating a written bomb threat was found overnight in a building on the school’s Fairfax campus.
University officials have said the threat is not an “immediate danger” to the campus.
Police had cordoned off the Art and Design Building, where the threat was discovered. Classes in that building starting at 7:30 a.m., the earliest scheduled classes of the the day, were canceled.
By 8:15 a.m., the building was reopened. All other classes and events at the university will be held as scheduled, according to university officials.
University police are still working with local law enforcement on their investigation, and ask anyone with information about the situation to contact them at 703-993-2810.
