Sometimes you just have to tap your toes, whether you need to or not.
To satisfy that urge, The Trio — a vocal acoustic band, is set to perform from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Band members Elle Dimond, Bruce Salan and Chuck Becker will play as part of Heritage Days 2013, presented by Heritage Montgomery, at the Hyattstown Mill, 14920 Hyattstown Mill Road in Hyattstown. The event is free and open to the public.
Over in Silver Spring, AFI Silver will show ‘A BAND CALLED DEATH,’ for one week, beginning today. Featuring Alice Cooper, Henry Rollins, Kid Rock and Questlove of The Roots fame, the documentary follows the lives of three brothers from the early 1970s who formed a band called Death. The band was punk before punk, but in the time of disco and Motown, Death couldn’t break into the recording industry. Now credited as being the first black punk band, this “rockumentary” is sure to open more than a few eyes.
