Police cruiser struck in Annandale hit-and-run

Fairfax County police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run crash with a police officer.

Around 12:30 a.m. May 12, a Fairfax County police cruiser was traveling southbound on Gallows Road. Police said an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Masonville Drive when it allegedly disregarded a stop sign and entered Gallows Road. The unknown vehicle struck the police cruiser in the rear quarter panel, causing the cruiser to spin and strike a utility pole. The unknown vehicle did not stop and continued in the direction of Little River Turnpike. The officer was not injured.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark four-door sedan with right front passenger side damage.

Female armed robbery suspect, 18, arrested in Burke

Fairfax County police have made an arrest in an armed robbery case that occurred May 8. Police said around 10:50 p.m. a woman entered a Shell gas station at 6054 Burke Commons Road, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from a store employee. The employee relinquished cash and the suspect left on foot. A short time later, a police officer located the suspect at the intersection of Burke Centre Parkway and Pond Spice Lane and took her into custody.

Chelsee D. Wright, 18, of Stafford has been charged with robbery and with the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Man assaulted, robbed in Annandale

Fairfax County police responded around 7:40 p.m. May 8 to the McDonald’s restaurant at 6302 Little River Turnpike for a reported robbery. Officers met with the victim, a 53-year-old Alexandria man who said he walked out of the McDonald’s and was attacked by two men. He claimed he was knocked to the ground and kicked and an undisclosed amount of cash was removed from his pants pocket. The victim did not require medical attention. The two suspects, as well as a third man apparently with them, ran toward Landmark Shopping Center.

All three suspects were described as black and between 25 and 30 years old. One suspect was approximately 6 feet tall and was wearing a striped shirt. He was also carrying a backpack. The second suspect had dreadlocks and possibly a mustache. There was no further description of the third suspect.

Man robbed at knifepoint in Falls Church

Fairfax County police were called to a report of a robbery around 9:30 p.m. April 30 on Williams Lane near Columbia Pike.

A 43-year-old Falls Church man was walking alone when he was approached by three men, one of whom the man said displayed a knife and demanded money. The man handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspects fled toward Center Lane.

All three suspects were described by police as Hispanic males. The suspect with the knife was 25 to 30 years old. He was approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with an average build. His head was shaved and he had a small goatee. He was wearing a white T-shirt with black sleeves.

The second suspect was also 25 to 30 years old. He was about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a skinny build. He was wearing a bandana on his head and dark clothing.

There was no further description of the third suspect. A police helicopter and K9 unit responded to check the area but the suspects were not located.
