The Maryland State Athletic Directors Association named Jim Horn, South Carroll High School athletic director, as Athletic Director of the Year for District 1B.

A representative is selected by MSADA from each of the thirteen districts in the state each year. The award is presented to athletic administrators who have made a significant impact on the lives of students and have used athletics to achieve progress in the social and cultural environment of the school and community.

“Jim is a seasoned athletic director who is looked up to by his colleagues for his experience and expertise surrounding athletic administration issues,” said Jim Rodriguez, Supervisor of Athletics for Carroll County Public Schools, in a news release.

Horn has worked for Carroll County Public Schools for 31 years, the last 13 years as athletic director at the high school. This is the second time that Horn has been selected for the honor.

He will be recognized during the annual MSADA Banquet held April 27 in Ocean City, Md.
