Herndon police have identified a man’s body that was found Saturday.

Police said that shortly after 11 a.m,, a Herndon resident was walking their dog on the 700 block of Tamarack Way when they discovered the body.

On Monday, police identified the man as 33-year-old Tory J. Marshall of Herndon.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that Marshall died of hypothermia.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s low overnight temperature was 18 degrees.

Police said that the investigation revealed that alcohol may have also been a factor, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Marshall worked as a sales manager for Dell Computers at Isaac Newton Square in Reston, according to a spokesperson there. He also recently worked for Cogent Communications in Herndon, according to the company’s headquarters in Washington.

According to his Facebook page, Marshall was a 2003 graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md, and was originally from North Brunswick, N.J. An outpouring of condolences have been posted by friends and acquaintences there.
