Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Dist. 11), former chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, wrote in your Dec. 21-23 edition that concerning guns, he has a record that includes support of “banning guns from schools.”
In the same edition you reported that the Fairfax County Police have police officers stationed in county middle and high schools full time. This means that there is a gun in every county middle and high school.
I live across the street from McLean High School and, over the years, never paid much attention to the police cruisers parked there, although I have had a few conversations with the officers when they venture outside the school and down our street to check out something.
Rep. Connolly plainly states that he opposes this gun presence. I wonder if the teachers, students and parents do too.
