Fairfax County police have arrested a Franconia man and charged him with killing his roommate.

Police said they were called to the 6000 block of Hydrangea Drive around 10:20 a.m. this morning for a disturbance and found a body upon their arrival.

“We discovered one person deceased and initially ruled it a suspicious death,” said police spokeswoman Shelley Broderick.

Police later ruled the death a homicide and identified the suspect as Eric C. Kewder, 34.

Broderick said police conducted a search, apprehended Kewder, and charged him with murder.

“He was located within five miles of his home, where the deceased was also discovered,” she said.

The identity of the alleged victim has not been released.

Broderick said Kewder is being held without bond at the Fairfax Adult Detention Center. No attorney information for him is yet available.
