Nick’s Picks:

Last week: 3-0; Season: 23-7

Lake Braddock 35, Oakton 14

Oakton should come out of the gates fired up to prove they’re still a good football team despite recent losses. But Lake Braddock is firing on all cylinders, so I think the Bruins will end Oakton’s season for the second year in a row.

Chantilly 28, Robinson 24

Robinson may want revenge for last week’s loss to the Chargers, but don’t expect a different result on Chantilly’s home turf. Though a part of me senses a blowout, I think the Rams will fight hard to make it close.

South County 42, Madison 14

Madison got an unfortunate draw against South County, which is playing more like last year’s state title contender than the team that began this season 1-5. If the Stallions’ defense maintains its composure, this one shouldn’t be close.
