1. Stone Bridge (9-0, 6-0)

Last week: The vaunted Stone Bridge defense held Madison to -6 rushing yards and just three completions in a 42-0 beatdown against the Warhawks to lock up their eighth consecutive Liberty District title.

2. Westfield (9-0, 4-0)

Last week: Senior tailback Dalaun Richardson put up a career high 274 rushing yards and three touchdowns to power the Bulldogs to a 40-21 victory against Centreville. A win against Herndon (1-8) this Friday would give them a second straight Concorde District title.

Last week: Kyle Downer’s two touchdowns and 245 passing yards weren’t enough to overcome Robinson, which emerged with a 28-27 overtime win to hand the Cougars their third straight loss.

Next up: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Centreville

9. Madison (7-2, 5-1)

Last week: The coaches’ decision to go with a confident Mitch Goddard at quarterback proved fruitless, as the Warhawks were outgained 627-28 in a 42-0 loss against Stone Bridge.

Nick’s Picks

Last week: 2-1; Season: 20-7

Chantilly 35, Robinson 21

A deep rushing attack combines with the Sonny Romine-Sean Huelskamp connection to make Chantilly’s offense one of the hottest in the region right now. If the Chargers can clamp down on Joe Wilson, they will come away with a second place finish in the Concorde District.

Lake Braddock 33, West Springfield 17

The Bruins have won six games in a row by double digits, and I don’t expect that pattern to change this weekend. If it can avoid too many miscues against an opportunistic West Springfield defense, Lake Braddock will emerge undefeated in district play this season.

Centreville 24, Oakton 23

Coming off three consecutive losses and still in search of a quality district win, Oakton needs this game more than Centreville. But the Wildcats have been excellent at home this year, so I like them to pull out a close one in the season finale.
