The rosters for the prestigious Brooks Robinson All-Star Game, which includes the best seniors in Maryland, were announced Wednesday. Five players from Montgomery County and two from Frederick County will play in the game on June 10, following a game between the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies at Camden Yards in Baltimore.

Landing spots on the South Team were Quince Orchard's Billy Plante (.383 batting average, 5 HR, 27 RBI) and Alex Lipman (.407, 16 RBI), Georgetown Prep's Eric Ramsey, Rockville's Sean Van Gieson (.328, 10 RBI, 18 stolen bases), and James H. Blake's Cody Acker (.465, 17 RBI). The South Team will be coached by Gaithersburg's Jeff Rabberman as well as Brian Femi from St. Michael's and Lansdowne's Matt Kohel.

Middletown's Nick Rabat (.342, 13 RBI) and Linganore's Tyler Beckwith (.355, 31 runs) will play for the North Team. Thomas Johnson's Travis Phelps was named one of three alternates.

The Brooks Robinson game was started in 1982. Among the alumni are New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, Washington Nationals pitcher Mike O'Connor and former Baltimore Oriole Bill Ripken.
