The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a man who robbed a Waldorf gas station on Monday.

Surveillance photos of the suspect are being released and detectives want to hear from anyone who knows who he is.

Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for the tip that leads to the arrest of the suspect.

At 8:30 p.m. April 23, officers went to the Plaza Shell at 3185 Crain Highway after someone reported an armed robbery. The investigation revealed a man entered the business, approached the cashier and demanded money from the register. When the cashier refused, the man showed he had a handgun in his waistband.

The cashier gave the man money and he then demanded the cashier’s car keys. The cashier complied and the man fled in the cashier’s vehicle but abandoned it less than a mile from the store.

He is described as white with green eyes. He is between 40 and 50 and was wearing a purple Reebok jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 301-932-7777 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS. Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment. All callers remain anonymous.

Detective C. Wimberly is investigating.
