The First Baptist School of Laurel has announced winners of the 2012 Science Fair.
The fairís grand prize winner was fourth-grader Maya Patel, whose project explored whether mnemonic devices help memory.
Second-grade winners were Ania Swain in first place with a project on yellow and brown bananas, Nathan Busey in second place and Kedrick Glasper in third place.
Third-grade winners were Jordan Price in first place with a moldy cheese experiment, Jake Klaver in second and Collin Dwonzyk in third place.
Fourth-grade winners were Ruby Hairston, whose static electricity project won first place, Alexis Schmidt in second place and Armand Ontiveros in third place.
Fifth-grade winners were Touissant Parris-Grant in first place with an experiment on crystals, Jordan Webster in second place and Noah Horton in third place.
