A culprit brandishing a knife robbed an employee at a California sub shop of an undisclosed amount of money on Monday morning, law officers report, before he ran away from the business.

No customers were in the Subway at the San Souci Plaza shopping center at 7:47 a.m. that day when the robber entered, according to St. Mary’s detectives.

“He displayed the knife and demanded money,” sheriff’s Capt. Terry Black said.

Investigators asked that anyone with information about the robbery call them at 301-475-4200, ext. 9105, provide tips to St. Mary’s Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333 or send a text message to CRIMES (274367), entering TIP239 before the tip.

Callers to Crime Solvers can withhold their name and later collect their reward through a number-identification system. The Crime Solvers program assists law enforcement in solving open investigations that may not have been closed without the extra incentive of anonymity and an offer of a reward of up to $2,000, providing the information leads to an arrest or indictment.
